Benefit and Advocacy Concerts

Test Broadcast Concerts

The BMPI handled Test Broadcast, an advocacy concert that gathers radio and TV broadcasters in the Philippines to pay tribute to journalists and broadcasters who were killed in spite of so-called freedom of expression and press freedom. The event, held at the Araneta Coliseum on November 13, 2006, was titled “Test Broadcast: A Cry for Freedom.”

Test Broadcast was organized by PBC-UNTV 37, Rotary Club of Intramuros, KBP-Metro Manila Chapter in cooperation with the National Press Club (NPC).

As a tribute and benefit concert, Test Broadcast was created to honor veteran broadcasters on television and on radio who have continuously served the public for more than 40 years now. The concert was also aimed at raising funds for the bereaved families of slain reporters, editors, announcers and other media people.

The BMPI handled campaigns, promotions, advertising, public relations and productions. The result was one of the most successful concert events held at the 20,000-seater Araneta Coliseum.

Y Con Con (Youth Concert and Convention)

The Youth Convention and Concert, organized by the Bible Readers’ Society International (Bread), was handled by BMPI on March 2007 at the Araneta Coliseum. Part benefit concert, Y Con Con aimed to raise funds and support for the benefit of the urban poor and the Bicutan Rehabilitation Center, as well as for young people who were either abused or have been mistreated.

Fifteen (15) bands participated in the said event including Rivermaya, Kamikazee, Sugarfree, The Wuds, and Hamillan, among others that inspired the youth in the event. They all called the attention of concerned public and private agencies to join in the same endeavor.
